It’s Farm Show Week! The PA Chamber Celebrates Agriculture’s Impact on “Powering Pennsylvania”

Agriculture is ingrained in Pennsylvania culture and essential to our economic health and the vitality of our citizens. This week, we’re excited to jumpstart the New Year with the time-honored annual tradition of the Pennsylvania Farm Show, where we celebrate the industry that employs nearly half a million people and contributes $132.5 billion to our state’s economy each year!

This week, visitors to the PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg can enjoy the Farm Show’s famous food court, including the highly anticipated new mint milkshake; an array of exhibitions featuring hands-on learning and shopping opportunities; the signature butter sculpture, which each year reflects the event’s theme; and the week-long slate of events.

The 2025 Farm Show theme, “Powering Pennsylvania,” honors the Commonwealth’s broad agricultural sector and how these businesses collectively move our economic future forward. From the producers who grow and raise our food, to the farmers cultivating products on urban rooftops, and the agri-tourism locales featuring craft breweries and farm-to-table restaurants, Pennsylvania’s agricultural landscape is diverse and dynamic. Multi-generational agricultural workers are interconnected through both traditional operations and innovative technologies. Conservation efforts are also improving operations and securing Pennsylvania’s status as a world-class leader. There’s much to explore, honor, and look forward to as we head into a dynamic and strong agricultural future.

Among the week’s event highlights will be the Celebrity Cow Milking Competition on Friday, January 10, at 2:30 P.M. in the Equine Arena at the Farm Show Complex. PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein will also compete and look to improve on his ninth-place finish in the Celebrity Feed Scurry Event at last year’s Farm Show on Wednesday, January 8, at 3:00 p.m. Good luck, Luke!

The 109th Farm Show runs from Saturday, January 4 through Saturday, January 11. The PA Chamber is proud to advocate on behalf of the growth and success of this incredibly essential industry, and we thank our dozens of member companies who operate in the agricultural sector for the incredible contributions they bring to Pennsylvania!
