HARRISBURG - ChamberPAC, the political arm of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, today announced its endorsement of Scott Wagner for governor. Wagner, the Republican candidate, is running on a pro-jobs, pro-growth platform.
“The PA Chamber’s mission is to advance public policies that will strengthen our economy and set Pennsylvania apart as the best place for businesses to invest, grow and hire,” said PA Chamber President and CEO Gene Barr. “Through his long tenure as a successful business owner, Scott knows first-hand the unique challenges that employers in the Commonwealth face each day. During his time as a state senator, he was a champion of legislation that would help to grow the economy, creating better opportunities for employers and employees alike.”
A lifelong York County resident, Wagner has spent the last 40 years building several successful enterprises – including one of the largest recycling plants in the country. In 2013, he made history as the first write-in candidate to win a legislative seat in a Special Election. He quickly proved himself to be a formidable force in the state Senate and was particularly engaged in the election of other pro-business candidates in the Commonwealth.
“Scott knows that a strong and thriving economy will benefit all Pennsylvanians,” Barr added. “His record speaks for itself. His campaign platform includes decisive plans to grow jobs and harness the full potential of the state’s resources. The Commonwealth’s residents would be well served to have Scott as their governor and ChamberPAC is proud to support him in the upcoming General Election.”
