ChamberPAC Endorses Jim Struzzi for State House of Representatives

HARRISBURG - ChamberPAC, the political arm of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, today announced its endorsement of Jim Struzzi for the state’s 62nd legislative House District.

Struzzi is facing off against three other candidates in the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 15. The seat is currently held by House Majority Leader Dave Reed, R-Indiana, who will retire at the end of this year.

“As a local chamber executive, Jim Struzzi has a unique understanding of the financial and regulatory challenges that employers face, having worked closely with small businesses throughout his community,” said PA Chamber President and CEO Gene Barr. “This experience has given him the opportunity to understand how government should work with the private sector to build and sustain a stronger, more competitive economy.”

A resident of White Township in Indiana County, Struzzi has had a diverse career in both the private and public sector. Having started out his career as a journalist covering local government, Struzzi was later employed by the state Department of Transportation, rising through the ranks to become press secretary for PennDOT District 11.  Following more than a decade in this role, he took the position of president of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, which he holds today.  Struzzi is also heavily involved in his community, having volunteered as a Little League coach for many years; and serving on several local boards and committees, including the Salvation Army Board, the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission and the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, to name a few.

“Jim Struzzi is a well-rounded candidate who understands and prioritizes the policies that must be enacted to encourage private-sector job growth,” Barr added. “On behalf of the Pennsylvania Chamber’s broad-based membership, ChamberPAC urges voters in the 62nd legislative House District to support Jim Struzzi in the upcoming Primary Election.”

The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry is the state's largest broad-based business association, with its statewide membership comprising businesses of all sizes and across all industry sectors. The PA Chamber is The Statewide Voice of BusinessTM.
