HARRISBURG - The PA Chamber Educational Foundation and the Pennsylvania Bankers Association are again joining forces to present the Sixth Annual Economic Forecast Summit on Thursday, Feb. 15 at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey.
This year’s program will provide an overview of the economic opportunities and challenges currently facing Pennsylvania and the nation, with an additional focus on workforce development and closing the jobs skills gap; as well as a segment on cybersecurity and the critical role it plays in a stable economy.
“The federal tax reform legislation that recently went into effect has brought a welcome jump-start to both the national and state economies,” said PA Chamber president Gene Barr. “We are seeing increased confidence among the private sector – with numerous businesses already announcing how they plan to re-invest the expected savings from the changes to the Federal Tax Code back into their organizations and employees. This year’s conference will examine the impact this historic reform package will have on the national economy for years to come – as well as delving into how Pennsylvania’s current economic climate is impacting employers within the Commonwealth.”
The summit’s agenda features an economic forecast from both the state and federal perspective. Dr. James Chessen, executive vice president and chief economist for the American Bankers Association, will be discussing the challenges currently facing businesses from a national perspective, as well as anticipated economic and banking activity over the next few years. Pennsylvania Budget Secretary Randy Albright will give an overview of the economic challenges currently facing the Commonwealth.
“Evaluating economic conditions is one of the most critical skills required in successful retail banking,” said Pennsylvania Bankers Association president & CEO Duncan Campbell. “We are honored to work with the PA Chamber Foundation to offer top experts who will share valuable perspectives that will assist our banks in continuing to build upon and strengthen their roles as economic drivers in their local communities.”
RKL will serve as the Economic Forecast Summit’s Exclusive Diamond Sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.
Media are invited to attend from 8:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Additional information regarding the agenda and confirmed speakers can be found here. Individuals interested in attending the event can register online on the PA Chamber’s website.
