A Look Ahead for the Week of June 21

The state House and Senate are in session this week.  There are a number of items of interest to the business community scheduled to be considered in committee or before the full House or Senate.

The House and Senate are expected to take up mirror proposals that facilitate and streamline deployment of 5G and small cell broadband and wireless infrastructure.  The PA Chamber supports measures that strengthen and make more efficient our telecommunications networks.

The Senate Labor & Industry and Education Committees will meet on Tuesday for public hearings on Gov. Tom Wolf’s nomination of Jennifer Berrier and Noe Ortega to serve as secretary of the Department of Labor & Industry and Department of Education, respectively.

On Wednesday, the House Environmental Resources & Energy Committee is scheduled to vote on H.B. 604, legislation that aims to bring greater transparency and predictability to the Department of Environmental Protection’s permitting process.

The full list of committee meetings, which is subject to change, is available on the General Assembly website.
