HARRISBURG - ChamberPAC, the political arm of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, has endorsed Rep. Jim Christiana, R-Beaver, for re-election to the 15th state House District. Christiana will face Democrat Michael Rossi in the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The 15th House District comprises parts of Beaver and Washington Counties.
“Jim Christiana has been a strong voice for the business community throughout southwestern Pennsylvania and the entire state,” said PA Chamber President and CEO Gene Barr. “He has a proven track record of supporting policies that will promote economic opportunities and job growth in the Commonwealth. During his tenure in the state legislator, Jim has worked to bring greater transparency to government spending, advocated for responsible state budgeting and fought for high-quality educational opportunities for all Pennsylvania students. Additionally, he played a vital role in supporting Shell’s decision to build a new petrochemical facility in Beaver County – a move that will have an enormous impact on the entire state’s economy.”
Christiana has served in the House of Representatives since 2009. Prior to his role as state legislator, he served as a Beaver Borough councilman. Christiana plays an active role in his local community where he serves as a member of the Penn State Beaver Advisory Board and the Beaver County YMCA Board. He also co-founded and currently serves as chairman of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Ambassadors’ Council – which aims to reduce the waiting list of individuals looking for a Big Brother or Big Sister. Christiana and his wife, Jayann, reside in Beaver with their son.
“Jim Christiana is a well-rounded candidate who recognizes that government and the business community need to work together make Pennsylvania a place where job creators want to do business,” Barr added. “On behalf of the Pennsylvania Chamber’s broad-based membership, ChamberPAC urges voters in the 15th House District to support Jim in the upcoming General Election.”
