HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry is pleased to announce that the agreement to combine operations with the Pennsylvania Business Council has been finalized.
“This has been a milestone year for the PA Chamber,” said PA Chamber President Gene Barr. “As we continue to celebrate our centennial anniversary, we are excited about this new chapter as we look to strengthen our outreach on behalf of the Commonwealth’s broad-based business community. With both organizations working on many of the same pro-business policy goals, joining forces just made sense. Our combination allows for a more effective utilization of resources and will bolster our government advocacy, political action and educational efforts.”
The two organizations first unveiled plans to combine operations in June and have worked diligently over the past several weeks to finalize the details. As of today, all PBC operations – including the PBC Policy Roundtable, PEG PAC and the PBC Education Foundation – now fall under the purview of the PA Chamber. PBC members will receive the same benefits they received prior to the combination, along with the benefits of PA Chamber membership. Under the terms of the agreement, three members of the PBC Board of Directors will become board members of the PA Chamber.
“This is a great move for the state’s business community,” Barr added. “Combining operations will lead to a more unified and robust voice in fighting to improve Pennsylvania’s economic climate, increase private sector job-growth and put the Commonwealth on a path towards economic prosperity.”
