HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry President and CEO Gene Barr issued the following statement regarding Shell’s decision to move forward with a petrochemical facility in Beaver County:
“This is tremendous news for all of Pennsylvania. This is a testament to what can happen when we leverage our natural resources with smart policy to encourage the private sector to make this type of investment. The natural gas and liquids contained in the Marcellus and Utica shales hold great promise to issue a new chapter in the Commonwealth’s great history of being a leader in energy production and manufacturing, and this petrochemical facility is the beginning of that chapter. With continued smart policies from leaders in Harrisburg, we can fully harness the potential of all of our natural resources. I commend Shell for their trust in our people, our communities and our Commonwealth. I also want to thank leaders in Harrisburg for their support of this critical project and for enacting pro-growth policies that incent job creators to invest in the Commonwealth.”
