Out and About: PA Chamber Hits the Road

Last week, members of our team crisscrossed the Commonwealth, bringing our pro-growth, pro-business message to students, educators, companies, and chambers across the Keystone State.

PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein visited Pittsburgh, where he met with several local businesses, schools, and lawmakers, and attended the Pittsburgh Business Times’ Vision event featuring Highmark Health CEO David Holmberg.

PA Chamber Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Alex Halper visited Williamsport to participate in Senator Gene Yaw’s “Senator for a Day” event at Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he helped give high school students a real-life look at how state government operates. Other elected officials present included Senator Lisa Baker and state Reps. Joe Hamm and Jamie Flick.

Across the state, PA Chamber Vice President and General Counsel Megan Martin and Director of Government Affairs Neal Lesher joined Senator Scott Hutchinson for his “Senator for a Day” event in Clarion County. Other elected officials present included Senators Joe Pittman and Dan Laughlin, state Reps. Kerry Benninghoff, Parke Wentling, and PA Treasurer Stacy Garrity.

Martin kicked off the event with an hour-long PA civics presentation, drawing on her expertise from her decade-long service as the Senate Parliamentarian, when she managed the legislative process. She engaged the students with Pennsylvania trivia in a Q&A format, rewarding their participation with giant-sized Hershey bars and PA Chamber swag! Approximately 200 students enthusiastically participated in the program and enriched their understanding of the state legislative process.

Lastly, PA Chamber Manager of Government Affairs Aaron Riggleman visited Penn State Fayette to speak at the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative Luncheon, where he appeared alongside Senator Pat Stefano and state Reps. Charity Krupa and Ryan Warner, as well as staff members from the offices of Congressman Guy Reschenthaler and Senator Bob Casey.
