A Look Ahead for the Week of Oct. 23, 2023

The Pennsylvania Senate returns to session this week. The PA Chamber is monitoring two pieces of legislation with the potential to impact the state’s business community.

Senate Bill 596 would establish an office of Organized Retail Crime Theft in the Attorney General’s office and lower the monetary thresholds for second and third-degree felony retail thefts.

Senate Bill 927 would remove townships from the PA Separations Act, which requires separate contracts for each element of a public construction project – enabling townships to execute projects using alternative delivery methods, which may decrease construction costs/minimize delays.
