Last Friday, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced plans to revamp the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Board with the appointment of more than 40 new members who will advise the governor on policies related to private-sector job growth and workforce development.
“We have a people-powered economy in Pennsylvania, and we need to invest in and expand our workforce to meet the demands of today and tomorrow,” Governor Shapiro said. “This diverse group of experienced leaders representing labor and business across every Pennsylvania industry will help us make smart investments to produce the results that we all want – a thriving economy where workers have access to stable careers with family-sustaining wages and employers have the talent they need to continue growing their businesses while supporting communities across the Commonwealth.”
Among the appointees were several leaders from PA Chamber member businesses, including:
- Vincent Tutino – Lindy Paving
- Shea Zwerver – Flagger Force
- Mark E. Pasquerilla – Pasquerilla Enterprises
- Andrea J. MacArthur – Erie Insurance Group
- Gerardo Interiano – Aurora Innovation
- Timothy James – Google
- Michael Shirk – The High Companies
The PA Chamber is proud to champion forward-thinking solutions to the Commonwealth’s workforce challenges, and we salute the outstanding efforts of our members to drive meaningful reforms forward. Congratulations to the newly appointed members of the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Board!
