The Keynote: Drug and Alcohol Testing in the Workplace—with the heroin and opioid epidemic sweeping the nation and Pennsylvania, many employers have adopted substance abuse policies or are in the process of putting policies in place. However, in light of Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Law, the American's With Disabilities Act and OSHA's new rule which calls into question mandatory post-accident testing programs, companies must carefully consider how to handle drug and alcohol issues in the workplace. We will discuss the essential elements of a substance abuse policy.
