PA Chamber Members Gain Timely Insights at DEP Quarterly Meeting

PA Chamber members gained valuable insights about the status of permitting efficiency improvements, oil and gas regulatory updates, customer service program information, and more at the PA Chamber’s DEP Quarterly meeting last week.

The meeting was held virtually and in-person at the PA Chamber office in Harrisburg. High-ranking officials from the PA Department of Environmental Protection updated the audience of business leaders and answered their questions. DEP’s Executive Deputy Secretary Ramez Ziadeh provided an agency update, largely focusing on the agency’s efforts with the Shapiro administration to ensure improvements in permitting review times and clearing backlogs.

Following his presentation, Kurt Klapowski, Deputy Secretary in DEP’s Office of Oil and Gas, offered a breakdown of the latest in his area of expertise. The meeting closed with an update from DEP’s Customer Service Director Rosetta Carrington Lue, who oversees the agency’s goal to move toward a more modern customer service model. You can view her presentation here.

The PA Chamber’s free, members-only DEP Quarterly meetings are a great opportunity to proactively discuss pressing regulatory issues, legislation, policy decisions, and other initiatives with key regulators and executive staff. We proudly host these meetings with the department leaders whose decisions can affect our members’ day-to-day operations.

The PA Chamber thanks the generous sponsors of DEP Quarterly, who give tremendous support to the program throughout the year – Presenting Sponsor, GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc.; and Gold Sponsors, Eckert Seamans and Bentley Systems. Our next DEP Quarterly meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 11.
