Nearing the final stretch in Pennsylvania’s annual state budget hearings, the House and Senate are preparing to delve further into key funding and policy proposals across various state agencies this week.
The House is gearing up for its last round of hearings, beginning today with PennDOT and the Pennsylvania State Police. A two-part hearing on the Department of Education is scheduled for Tuesday, followed by the Department of Human Services on Wednesday, and finally the Governor’s Budget Office on Thursday.
Meanwhile in the Senate, lawmakers return tomorrow for an all-day hearing focused on the Department of Human Services. Wednesday will feature discussions on the Department of State in the morning and the Department of Transportation in the afternoon. Then on Thursday, lawmakers will shift their focus to the Department of Health in the morning before their final hearing on the Governor’s Budget Office and the Department of Revenue.
