Now in the second week of annual state budget hearings, the Pennsylvania House and Senate are continuing to examine funding and other policy proposals for various state agencies.
In the House, hearings begin on Monday with the Department of Insurance and the Department of Labor & Industry. Tuesday’s agenda features the Department of State and the Department of Health, as well as the Department of Drug & Alcohol Programs. On Wednesday, lawmakers will review funding for community colleges and the Departments of Environmental Protection and Conservation & Natural Resources, followed by judiciary and state-related universities on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Senate Appropriations Committee will meet on Tuesday to review funding the PA Fish and Boat Commission, the PA Game Commission, and the Department of Agriculture. Wednesday’s hearings will both be focused on the Department of Education, while Thursday’s hearings will feature discussion on the Department of Environmental Protection and the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
