It’s Farm Show Week, the annual celebration of everything agriculture has to offer the Commonwealth. For an industry that employs more than half a million people and contributes $132.5 billion to Pennsylvania’s annual economy, there’s so much to recognize, learn about, and appreciate!
The 2024 Farm Show theme, “Connecting Our Communities,” directly honors Pennsylvania’s rich agricultural history, its presence in our daily lives, and its universal vision for a stronger future where good jobs and healthy, farm-fresh food is plentiful. As we kick off 2024 and the annual Farm Show week tradition, it’s a great time to honor this leading industry’s significant contributions to Pennsylvania in terms of revenue, food sourcing, job creation, and more.
Spectators flock to the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg each year for its famous food court; an array of exhibitions featuring hands-on learning and shopping opportunities; the highly anticipated butter sculpture which reflects the event’s annual theme; and the week-long slate of events. This year – for the second year in a row – our own PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein will take part in the Celebrity Feed Scurry Event, working with a 4-H team and draft horses to complete an obstacle course race! While our fearless leader is accomplished in many things, running with draft horses is not among them – but we have confidence that he’ll improve upon 2023’s last place finish!
The Farm Show began on Saturday, January 6, and will run through Saturday, January 13.
